This year we have all experienced unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While uncertainty persists, the Tucson Conquistador leadership team continues to focus on hosting another world-class golf event that will make our community proud.
Due to COVID-19, this year’s Cologuard Classic will be different in all regards. The 2021 tournament will still host a top-tier field of PGA TOUR Champions professionals; however, attendance will be reduced, and the few hospitality venues will be open-air, limited-capacity private suites derived from COVID specific protocols. We are planning for Cologuard Classic week to consist of an Am-Am event on February 22nd providing amateur players the ability to play the course in tournament conditions, followed by the Jose Cuervo Pro-Am on February 24th and 25th offering amateur golfers an elevated experience as each group plays with a PGA TOUR Champions professional. The week will conclude with the PGA TOUR Champions professional tournament competition from February 26th – 28th .
As the situation evolves, we continue to work closely with the PGA TOUR Champions, local and state health officials, and the CDC. Our top priority is to provide a healthy and safe environment for players, caddies, volunteers, staff, and guests. Our leadership is committed to providing the best golf tournament on the PGA TOUR Champions while ensuring we maintain our commitment to supporting our local disadvantaged youth charity programs and promoting colorectal cancer research and advocacy. We look forward to another successful year and want to thank everyone for your ongoing support, which is crucial now more than ever.
Please stay tuned for future announcements pertaining to the 2021 Cologuard Classic in the new year.
