IT'S ALL ABOUT THE KIDS

What inspires the Tucson Conquistadores to work as hard as they do on their golf tournaments and other events? Providing as many kids as possible, especially less fortunate ones, with the character-building experience of participating in sports. Since its inception in 1962, the group has contributed nearly $37 million to youth athletic programs. Visit our website to learn more about us and our charitable efforts.

Giving back is at the heart of the Tucson Conquistadores and the PGA TOUR Champions. Net proceeds from this tournament go directly to youth charities in Southern Arizona.

A Few of the Charities

Amphitheater Public Schools Foundation – Their mission is to promote academic excellence through the expansion of resources that enrich the education, development, and well-being of students in the Amphitheater Public Schools. Tournament proceeds have enabled the Conquistadores to underwrite athletic fee waivers, so that every student with the desire has the opportunity to participate in sports.

Boys and Girls Clubs – A resource for children and teens with nowhere to go after school and during the summer, Boys and Girls Clubs seek to provide opportunities for young people to succeed. Their efforts include programs and clubhouses serving thousands of youth. Tournament proceeds have benefited Boys and Girls Clubs in Tucson, Bisbee, Sierra Vista, and Santa Cruz County

First Tee-Tucson – The Tucson chapter of this national organization is dedicated to introducing the sport of golf to youth ages 7-18. Along with teaching the basics of the game to kids of all backgrounds, including those who may not otherwise have the opportunity, The First Tee promotes valuable character education and leadership skills.

Special Olympics Arizona – Providing sports and athletic training to children and adults with intellectual disabilities is the mission of the Special Olympics, an international organization with chapters all over the world. In Arizona, the organization seeks to empower the over 180,000 Arizonans with intellectual disabilities to be healthy, productive, and respected community members.

Sporting Chance – Operated by Southern Arizona Community Sports, this youth sports center at Curtis Park in Tucson is the result of collaboration between several community partners, including the Tucson Conquistadores, over more than a decade. The state-of-the-art indoor facility provides safe, accessible, and affordable space for youth sports programs and activities promoting health and fitness.

YMCA – Dedicated to improving the quality of human life and helping people realize their full potential, the YMCA also strives to empower youth through physical activities and educational programs. Tournament proceeds have benefitted the YMCA of Southern Arizona, including its Northwest and Ott Family Gymnasiums, Triangle Y Ranch Camp and All Kids Swim and Youth Sports Programs.
